What owners say about Minnid

We can explain how Minnid works. Owners can tell you what they think of living with it. These two comments come from public camper and motorhome forums.

“Superbly made! It was exactly the right investment!”

That is how DerTobi1978 describes his Minnid carrier on Reisemobiltreff. In his post of 9 August 2023, he says he has an integrated Minnid carrier on his Knaus motorhome.

The quoted sentence is translated from German. You can read his original comment in the forum discussion. His vehicle and carrier are his own setup; the product photograph here is an example, not a photograph of his motorhome.

Comparing carriers at Caravan Salon

Sandra, posting as Strandkorb on Pösslforum, describes looking at different bicycle carriers at Caravan Salon 2024. Her conclusion: I chose Minnid.

This is a translation of “Geworden ist es der Minnid.” Her post is dated 12 April 2026, and the full discussion is available on Pösslforum.

See the system for yourself

If you are comparing carriers, ask to see Minnid open with the load still in place. Look at how you reach the rear doors and how the modules attach. Those are the differences you will use on a trip.

You do not need to visit a German trade show to have that conversation. Find a Minnid partner and ask what they can demonstrate, or save a configuration to discuss with them.

MINNID JOURNAL

Built your own camper? Here is how Minnid fits in.

Built your own camper? Then you know how much work and how many personal ideas go into it. If you want to fit your Minnid system yourself too, we are here to support that choice.

Our recommendation: let Minnid or a garage fit it

Our preferred option is installation by Minnid or a garage. They fit the mounting kit, swing carrier, electrics and selected modules. At handover, you can see how everything works and try the controls yourself.

Send us or your installation partner your saved configuration. We can then agree the fitting work, costs and appointment.

No partner listed nearby? Ask us anyway.

The partner directory is not the limit of our network. If nobody is listed near you, send us your town or postcode. We will help find a garage for the installation—our aim is a workshop within around 30 minutes’ drive of your home.

A missing pin on the map does not mean you have to fit it yourself or plan a long journey.

Prefer to fit it yourself? We support that.

Many campervans are built by their owners. That enthusiasm for making things is part of the community we value at Minnid. If DIY fitting is part of your project, we can help you prepare and answer questions about the system.

Choose your vehicle and modules in the configurator. The relevant installation manuals explain the work, tools and fitting requirements. Read them before starting and contact us if anything is unclear.

It does not have to be all DIY or all garage work. You can ask a workshop to handle individual jobs, such as the electrical connection.

Plan the electrics and parking sensors

An existing electrical kit can be retained if it is suitable and compatible with LED lights. Otherwise, the appropriate kit can be added.

Rear parking sensors can be moved to the new swivel carrier. The PDC transfer package includes a carrier with sensor holes, covers for the bumper holes and a wiring loom.

After fitting

Whether you fit it yourself or use a garage, get familiar with releasing, swinging and securing the carrier, and attaching and removing the modules. The installation and operating manuals cover the final checks and everyday use. If you have questions about the Minnid system, we are here to help.

Build your configuration and tell us whether you want to fit it yourself or would like help finding a garage nearby.

Two bikes, four bikes or a luggage box: one Minnid system

You buy a bike carrier for a cycling trip. Next time, you need more luggage space. With Minnid, that does not have to mean buying a different carrier: you can change the module on the same compatible foundation.

The combinations at a glance

What you want to carry Module arrangement
Two bicycles or e-bikes Base + bike module
Extra luggage Base + Box
Four bicycles Base + Base XT + two bike modules
Two bikes and luggage Base + Base XT + bike module + Box
Two luggage boxes Base + Base XT + two Box modules
A motorcycle or scooter motorcycle module with its integrated base

Each arrangement uses the appropriate vehicle mounting kit and swing carrier. Availability depends on your vehicle and its permitted load.

What stays when you change modules?

The vehicle-specific mounting and swing carrier form the foundation. The bike module and Box fit onto Base. If you want two of these modules at once, Base XT extends the setup to provide the second position.

That lets you start with two bikes and add luggage capacity later. Or use one Box on a trip without the bikes. You keep the compatible foundation rather than replacing the entire system.

A module for bikes, a box for luggage

The bike module takes two bikes, up to 35 kg each, and weighs 10.6 kg. Two bike modules give you four places and up to 110 kg of combined bicycle capacity in a suitable setup.

Box provides enclosed luggage space outside the van. A bike-module-and-Box combination is useful when you want the bikes along without filling the interior with the rest of your equipment.

Motorcycle module is used on its own

For a motorcycle or scooter, the motorcycle module has an integrated base and carries up to 130 kg, subject to vehicle and system limits. It is not combined with Base XT or a second module.

The motorcycle module weighs 25 kg, excluding the ramp. The ramp travels secured inside the vehicle, leaving the carrier’s available motorcycle allowance for the bike.

Choose BASE if you want the option of two modules

BASE has folding, extendable rear LED lights. BASE Lite’s folding lights have a fixed width. We recommend BASE for the most flexibility, especially if a second module may be part of your plans.

Choose your vehicle and build a setup to see the components and prices. You can start with the modules you need now.

Four bikes for the whole family—including e-bikes

Two e-bikes for the parents, two bikes for the children—and everyone comes along. With Base XT and two bike modules, Minnid carries up to four bicycles. Four e-bikes are possible too.

One setup for the whole family

Each bike module takes two bicycles. Base XT extends Base to accommodate the second module, giving you four bicycle places on the same swing carrier.

You do not need to put the family’s bikes inside the van. And when you need the rear doors, swing the loaded carrier aside. The bikes stay on.

Start with two places, add more later

Only need two places at first? Start with one bike module. Add Base XT and a second module when the children join you or you want to bring more bikes.

On trips without the whole family, you can remove the second bike module. Or use the extra position for a luggage box. The compatible foundation stays the same.

The capacity at a glance

  • Up to four bicycles, including e-bikes.
  • Up to 110 kg of combined bicycle payload.
  • A maximum of 35 kg per bicycle.

Minnid or your installation partner confirms the appropriate setup for your vehicle. Choose your vehicle and modules in the configurator.

Combine bikes and luggage

Base XT does not tie you to four bikes. One bike module and a Box provide room for two bicycles and extra luggage. Change the modules to suit the trip.

Explore the module combinations or ask a Minnid partner to show you the setup.

MINNID JOURNAL

A campervan bike carrier that opens with the bikes still on

You arrive at your pitch. The chairs are behind the rear doors. The bikes are on the back. With Minnid, you swing the loaded carrier aside and open the doors. The bikes stay where they are.

Rear-door access without unloading

The Minnid carrier swings 90° to the side, even when loaded. That gives you access to the rear of your camper without taking the bikes off first. Fetch your chairs, reach the garage or open up the van for a break, then swing the carrier back and secure it for the next journey.

The carrier connects to the vehicle through a vehicle-specific mounting kit and two support arms. Select your vehicle in the configurator to see the matching setup.

Up to four bikes—including e-bikes

The parents’ e-bikes and the children’s bikes: two bike modules and Base XT give Minnid room for up to four bicycles. Four e-bikes are possible too.

For trips as a couple, one bike module carries two bikes. When the whole family comes along, add Base XT and the second bike module.

The four-bike arrangement provides up to 110 kg of bicycle payload, with a maximum of 35 kg per bike. See the setup for the whole family.

Bikes today, luggage on the next trip

You do not have to choose a bicycle carrier and keep that layout forever. The bike module and Box are interchangeable modules. With Base XT, you can combine two bike modules, two Box modules, or one of each.

That means two bikes and extra luggage can travel on the same system. When your plans change, you change the modules rather than starting again with another carrier. See the module combinations.

Which base should you choose?

Choose BASE if you want the most flexibility. Its rear LED lights fold and extend outwards, which helps maintain rear visibility with wider loads and two-module combinations. BASE Lite has folding lights at a fixed width.

We recommend BASE unless you know you only need the fixed-width arrangement and will not use two modules together.

Start with your vehicle

The Minnid configurator takes you from vehicle selection to a complete system with prices. If your vehicle is not listed, contact us: we can often develop a custom adapter.

Prefer to see the movement before deciding? Find a Minnid partner and ask about a demonstration.

The journey continues

Today I would like to share some exciting news with you that concerns our future.

September 2023
As you may know, in March 2023 we signed the agreement to acquire the Minnid brand from GA’s insolvency. We at Jopindo GmbH are delighted that Minnid can now make a fresh start and, of course, continue to grow thanks to us! With confidence and enthusiasm, we want to embark on the journey into the future with Minnid – and we look forward to everything that is to come!

Perhaps you have already googled us and see that Jopindo actually sells kitchen appliances – perhaps you are also wondering what a supplier of kitchen appliances has to do with motorhome accessories. Jopindo is one of four family-owned companies with roots in wholesale, production and logistics. Over the years, we have supported many brands and products that have grown significantly with our help – and of course, with the help of our dealer network. We are confident that this will work just as well, if not better, with Minnid.

I would like to emphasize that Minnid’s values will be preserved even after the takeover. The team and the expertise you all bring are invaluable and will continue to be a key pillar of our success. Our partners recognize this and are committed to running our company in close cooperation with us, in order to combine the best of both worlds.

I would like to encourage you to look to the future with us in an open and curious way. Changes may feel unusual at first, but I am confident that they will bring us exciting opportunities. We have the opportunity to benefit from new ideas and innovative approaches and to further solidify our position in the industry.

Your opinions and feedback are very important to us. Please take the time to share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas with us. We want to ensure that each of you is heard and that together we build a successful future.

We are currently still in the production planning phase and will get back to you in the next few weeks when we know when we will be able to deliver again. We thank you for your patience and hope to be able to announce a detailed plan soon.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that I have great confidence in our journey together. With the positive momentum of the acquisition and your support, we can help Minnid regain its momentum.

Thank you for your efforts so far for Minnid. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally if you have any questions or require further information.

With kind regards,

Johannes Pigge

and the Jopindo team
